Time to decide what direction to upgrade... :)

Here's what I taking from my current rig:

D-Link Gigabit PCI NIC
Soundblaster Fatal1ty PCI Soundcard
Keyboard + Mouse
Monitor
Speakers
Case

Here's what I plan on upgrading to:

Video Card:
EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814130071) $379.99 (MIR)

PSU:
Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 ATX12V 650W Power Supply with Three 12V Rails - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817371001) $104.99 (IR and MIR)

RAM:
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820231098) $88.99 (IR)

CPU:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80562Q6600 - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115017) $299.99 (hear price may drop soon?)

Motherboard:
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813128050) $129.99

Total: $1,032.42 shipped

Picking up some Arctic Silver 5 and a few case fans. I'm contemplating an aftermarket heatsink for that CPU...

This is for a main use computer that does a little bit of everything (video editing, games, surfing), my only concern is that all of my hard drives are IDE and I prefer not to upgrade to SATA until I have to.

This is also my first Intel build, so I paired it with a Gigabyte Intel board. Good/Bad idea?

Blargh they are sold out at Newegg, and the price didn't even drop

Edit: I noticed something, I guess it's because of my newbishness to the Intel platform, but if I get DDR2 800 and the CPU/Motherboard runs at 1066/1333, I assume the FSB will clock itself down to 800, or is this setup incompatible? I don't think I will shell out the ridiculous amount of money for DDR3

What's out of stock? Maybe the new price will be reflected when it's back in with fresh stock.

Intel FSB's are quad-pumped. The actual MHZ speed for 1066 and 1333 FSB's is 266 and 333, resp. DDR2-800 is double-pumped, so it's actually 400MHz. But no worries about the speed differences, the FSB/RAM will run on an appropriate divider (like a ratio). The RAM will run at DDR2-800 and the FSB will run at the appropriate speed.

Yeah the egg sold out of the Q6600's, hopefully they restock at the lower price.

I went ahead and bought all of the components except the processor and video card. Going to wait till I can buy them both at once.

Any suggestions about the build, or am I peachy?
