I have a Dell Dimension 4600 I bought four years ago. I am about to update to install a mobo and cpu. I bought the Biostar Nvidia GeForce 6100 with AMD Anthlon 64 X2. This mobo comes with intergrated video; however, I bought a separate pci-e video I want to use. Once I install all the components and about to perform the initial boot, should I plug my monitor into the provided vga on the mobo or can I plug it straight into the new video in order to get a display so I can enter CMOS and setup my pc.
Thanks

Try the video card first. If there's a display, then do your thing in BIOS.
If there's no display, then you'll have to remove the card, connect to the onboard video adapter, disable the video adapter in BIOS, and reinstall the card.
In either case, Windows will load its default video drivers after the O/S loads. Then, you can install the drivers that came with the video card.
You should also install the chipset drivers that came with the MB.
One thing to note- The O/S may have trouble loading because it contains data for the old MB. If that happens, then it's recommended that you format the HD, and reinstall Windows.
