so, i have a 2 1/2 year old emachines system, that has a few extras for light gaming. but it is getting ready for a re-vamp. i want to tear it completely apart, put in new processor, motherboard, graphics card, and load it with windows vista. i want it to be able to run games like flight simulator X SEAMLESSLY, but also staying tight on the budget.the cd/dvd group is fine, so thats not a problem. it already has a power supply also. i figure on getting a Intel Core 2 Quad or w/e its called, so to get the best processor. and i want to get a top of the line GeForce Graphics card. help please!

Do you know what kind of power supply it has? (Watts, Amps, model number)? It is probably not adequate for a top of the line video card so that will have to be replaced as well.

no. but i will check that out. its no big deal if i have to. the main problem for me is getting the motherboard, cpu, and graphics card to all be compatible.

eMachines usually uses a 300w power supply......it wouldnt even power up a 7600GS...lol...
the only thing out now that will play F Sim X SEAMLESSLY is the 8800 GTX...
finally what do you want your budget to be?

A beefy quad core is the way to go for FSX. With the latestest updates its multi-threaded and is supposed to get a good gain from dual and quad cores.

If you can wait...I bet it will be worth it...
