I am thinking about building a new pc & since I am on a tight budget, I thought I would go with these items. What do you think of these & is there anything better than what I have listed.
I am not going to be overclocking this system.
My budget is between $500 - $700
Intel BOXDG965RYCK Core 2 Duo/ G965/ DDR
Intel Celeron D 347 3.06GHz 533MHz 512K
Antec SP-500 500W 24/20/6pin 4-SATA ATX
Supertalent PC5300 2GB DDR2 667MHz
Undecided on Video card at the moment. (Any suggestions?)

Well to get things started there are a few things short on your list.
Do you have a case picked out?
What will you be using for an OS?
What about a HDD?
What about DVD/CD Drives?
As far as Video card what are your plans for this PC; Gaming, Office, just to have to mess around with?
Also when posting about what you are thinking about going with, links would be helpful :)

1. I do not have a case picked out yet.
2. More than likely I will be using XP Home
I have Vista, but wanted to wait until the service packs come out.
3. I currently have two hard drives in my system that I thought I would transfer over. The only problem with that is that they are IDE & most motherboards that I see, seem to have Sata instead.
4. I will be using my current DVD & CD-rom drives that I have.
5. I will mainly use this comp for gaming.
6. Not sure how to add the links.

If you plan on gaming, the Celeron processor needs an upgrade. If you can get a Core 2 Duo into the budget, I'd highly suggest it. If those are too much, this Allendale should do the trick: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116037 Though if you can, go up one more notch: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115014
This 7600GT will be good choice for a video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130062
You can add links with a simple copy/paste. :)

For 500-700 you should be able to swing a C2D build if you already have your monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc. Is the 500-700 just for the computer? The more info you provide the better the regulars can help you pick the best bang for the buck.

Yes, the 500 - 700 is just for the computer its self. I will be using my monitor, keyboard, mouse. I may even use the same mouse pad ( undecided on this one)
Basically what I need for my 500 - 700 is the:
Motherboard
Memory
Processor
Power Supply
Case
Not sure if I can use my existing Hard drives (IDE) and other optical devices.
Since I have been out of the upgrade loop for quite a while, I have no idea what would be the best buy for my money.
Lots of help would be appreciated.
