Greetings to Everyone,
My name is Mark Holtsclaw and I am in the Army. I have read through the recommeded post and also viewed the links before I post this message. I hope I will answer all the questions necessary to assist me in this endeavor. I have about $1,200.00 dollars available to build a PC, I would not like to spend that much if possible since the wife barely bought off on the idea of me doing this in the first place.
The box I build will be used a lot for media work and gaming, home use...i.e. office 2003-2007...I do a lot of video editing with Pinnacle and Music Maker. I need something that will enable me to capture, edit, music, video without running at the pace of a slug or locking up like my current PC does.
I would like the following for this box, I already have a monitor and keyboard and speakers:
2 DVD/CD Writable Players
1394 Port
6 USB Ports
Video Card
Memory
Hard Drive
Case
Mother Board
I hope I have named everything needed, my question is what should I get, I mean for what I am wanting to do, what is recommended, and are these things compatible. I would like to use Intel, but the reviews are mixed between that and AMD. I just want something fast and able to do what I need it to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
