Liteon DH-18A1P or not??

Hey Guys,

I dont know were else to turn, I am having some problems with a new drive.

My system is detecting the drive as a ATAPI something and when i insert a disc all i get is a blinking LED.

I have done some reaserch and by the model number the drive is actually a Liteon DH-18A1P. I dont know what the problem is. Frimware or Drivers I dont have a clue

Please could you help me out with this problem.

Is this a newly installed drive into a previously working computer?

Have you checked that your jumpers are correct? Is the IDE cable oriented correctly?

Yes. The PC works fine its all connected properly. The drive apears in My Computer.

It's Just when i put a disc in, the led flashes but the disc dosent spin.

and after a while it says "Insert Disc"
