I have an old HD from a previous computer and it has pins while my newer dell donesn't accept pins only the newer chip style i guess. i was wondering is anyone could link me a product from newegg.com that will allow me to use the old HD via USB 2.0. Thanks

Welcome to PCMech. I'm guessing your old HDD has a long receptacle on the back (filled with pins) in order for the wide ribbon cable to plug into? And your newer one is a Serial drive (SATA) that uses a thin cable with a small plug-in?
You would want something like THIS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817155601) for the older drive then. It's an IDE enclosure that connects to your computer via USB 2.0. It's even on sale right now with a mail-in rebate.
