What could be the cause of a mouse constantly freezing my pc? It's a ps/2 mouse on an IBM P3 with processor at 500MHz with 128 RAM. I've changed over 20 mice but each keeps freezing the pc after some time. The mice are in good order

What Operating System are you using?
When it freezez, does it stay frozen?
The small amount of Ram that you have could be a possibility. Your OS is having to pageout to the swap file which can cause a lag.

When the mouse freezes, can you turn on and off the numlock light on the keyboard? If you can, then the system is just getting really slow (probably running out of ram). If you can't, it's frozen and you may have faulty ram.

No idea what a freezing mouse has to do with hard drives and storage.. so I'll move to the right forum.

I'm sure if you're using WINXP, then you have to format it and re-install the OS. It could be a virus. If it is, then just do a clean install.
