do i need software firewall ?

Hi guys

I have an adsl connection and a fritz box cable modem - router .
Do i need to install a software firewall like zonealarm ?
I've been told that the hardware firewall of the fritz box is enough

The only thing that a software firewall besides XP's will do is block outgoing connects from you to the outside. Sometime this is helpful. My opinion is that a good external firewall is enough.

I'm one that likes a software firewall. It does / can block things that otherwise slip thru, and you also have the control of outbound protection which, for me at least, is a must.
