I sure do hope this is the correct place to post this. I just transferred our phone service to vonage and we get a fax line. I thought since we do not receive a lot of faxes I would just get them through my computer instead of buying a fax machine. I am not sure what I have done wrong I usually do faxes from my laptop but wanted this to be from my desktop. I setup the fax console and marked for it to automatically recieve incoming faxes. I then plugged the phone cord from the vonage modem into the jack on the back of my computer. I have two side by side. On the left it says phone and on the right of them it says line. I plugged it into the first jack on the left. Everytime someone trys to fax me it would say fatal error but I could not click on it to find out what the problem is. I tried troubleshooting but it has more to do with the fax console than errors for faxes coming in.

Next I tried sending my self a fax. I tried both jacks on the back and on each one it will receive the first page and then say an error occured while receiving the fax but I can not get any addt'l info. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I am sure it is something simple I am missing. TIA!!

You must use the "line" jack on your modem, not the "phone" jack.

That is where I have left it but for some reason I still can not receive over one page of a fax.
