I used a Asus board my last build now what?

I used a Asus board on my last build "which was my first". I'm going to build something more current. Thoughts and opinions on a board I should use. I like Asus but reading some recent reviews I'm having doubts. I'll be using my PC for pretty much everything. Games, Music, Video Editing. Even the possibility of integration with my home theater system and tv. I'm also a fan of BFG Graphic cards and Intel based Processor's. As you can see from my current specs I'll be going from scratch. Thanks

the asus p5k is a good board that supports intel processors.

Both Asus and Abit make great motherboards right now. Foxconn is a good budget builder's brand. Very solid reliability, but might not have all the frills you want.

eVGA is a great source for anything nVidia (GPUs, SLi based mobos) but BFG has a great reputation still. I think the eVGAs go for a bit less though.

The Intel e6750 is a hot item right now, though many will suggest a Quad core (Q6600) for another $70. It will give you greater performance in the future as more apps will start taking advantage of multiple cores.

Grab a good PSU (preferably from this list http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195) and you're on your way to a good system.

Go with an Asus P5K or P5B. Asus, is a great brand. You may have heard some bad things about them, but what company do you not hear anythign bad about them? Asus have high quality parts and are highly recommend here.

Well Ive always heard good things about Asus and that's why I picked them for my first build. I'm just reading some reviews on the current ones and I'm getting mixed opinions. I'll probably go with a middle of the run intel duo. Then I'll over clock it a little to bring it up to par. I read with the PK5 that there's a large Vdroop that will limit some overclocking. Also what board fully supports DDR3 Memory? Thanks

i believe it's the asus p5k3 board that supports ddr3.

Tomshardware did a test on a few DDR3 capable boards. Poke around there and you should get a good idea on what's available in the DDR3 market
