I have built a pc using secondhand parts. The Pc I built OS is . XP Pro Intel (R) Celeron (R) Cpu2.60 Ghz
2.59 GHz, 240 MB of Ram , 80 Gig Hd Partitioned to 20 Gig for OS and 60 Gig for folders etc.
The Pc takes 2 minits befor the desktop comes up.Is there any way I can speed this process up.
Also when I use Windows Media Player to play a DVD I get audio but no picture.
In my Device manager there is no Video controller ( VGA Compatiable)
also no Ethernet Controller.
How do I remove the Intel screen on startup.
How do I fix the problems above.
I do not know wether I can ask more than one Question on a post.

2 Minutes for the desktop to come up isn't too bad. Try Downloading Ethernet Drivers for your motherboard.

You are running on the low side of memory even for Windows XP - that is probably most responsible for the slower boot-up times. Consider adding more memory if you can find them at a decent price.

Be sure to install a DVD program to view DVD's, like PowerDVD or WinDVD. Windows Media Player is like a shell - it will use whatever program within it, but cannot operate independently without anything else installed. Install all your chipset/MOBO drivers.
