what are your other system parts?

this way we know how much voltage you'll need.

but as a guide: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195

A ball park figure is you probably want something above 550 w for a 8800GTX system at a minimum, but without knowing all your parts it is hard to say for sure. And that figure is based on quality PSU which is probably more important than just the number of watts.

the Corsair 620 has been highly rated on this site for 8800GTX systems so you might start there.

Also, this is for a single card set up. If you are thinking SLI you will need a something a quite a bit bigger.

It is important to point out that most new power supplies have multiple 12V rails. Add up the rails to come up with the totals that you see in those recommendations. So if you need 30A on the 12V and the PSU has two 12V rails at 18A, thats 36A, so you're all set.

But as mentioned, we need full specs for a good recommendation. :)
