Sudden Printer Problem

Have a HP photosmart 7350 and have had it for a long time. Nary a problem. Has of course 2 cartridges - one color and one black. I can always choose the color (usually grayscale) for printing letters, etc. Using MS Works, I've always printed out addresses on envelopes that came out with black ink by default - fine. Now it prints envelope addresses out in a light blue color suddenly and don't know why. I have found no settings for this option anywhere that could have changed the color. What gives?

Sorry if this is too obvious Sarge but the first place I'd check is the default font color in Works. Next perhaps a defective cartridge. Has it been changed recently? HTH

if i recall, the only time i ever seen that happen was when i needed to change the cartridge out. once i did that, i was back to nice crisp colors.

Works just fine for everything else - black. I never use the color cartridge anyway. Just the envelopes have changed .

That has to be a setting in the software. I don't know exactly what the Works envelope formatting looks like, but if there's an Advanced button, look there for fonts and colors.
