My mother has purchased a Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and installed it on her Compaq Presario SR1650NX. The mouse works fine, but it has disabled the screen saver. I have gone in and reset the settings and hit apply and ok, but the screen saver will not come on. I've even tried to set the screen saver to the flowerbox, apply, ok, shut down, restart, it did not work. Reset to the picture, apply, ok, wait, does not come on. Restart again, and still the screen saver will not come on.
Any suggestions?
Turn the monitor off when you aren't using it. Screen savers are totally unnecessary these days anyway.

Thanks for the tip man.
I once thought this was a place for help... guess things have changed.

Hi Quintz;
Here is a link that should fix your problem. http://www.tweakvista.com/article39080.aspx
I apologize for even making a suggestion. Now I have better things to do than to try to help someone that snaps back at me.

That worked, thanks.
GLC, I did not snap, I responded in a very correct way. Your statement helped me no fashion what so ever. I asked for help to find out to fix a non working screen saver, which turning off the monitor does not fix the problem. As a administrator, you should know better.
I was trying to save you possibly a lot of time and headaches. If I had known exactly how to FIX the screensaver, I would have said something. I guess next time I'll just move on and say nothing.

He's completely correct. Just turn the monitor off. Screensavers interfere with alot of newer programs anyway.
