Ok, so I have a server at home, just an older PC that I use for my mail and ftp and web and files. I have this 80 gb Seagate HD from a laptop. I have no use for it in a laptop, and have an adapter for 2.5 to 3.5 and I know everything works, I have tried it out. I'm wondering, would it be bad for the hard drive to be on all the time? Because my server is on 24/7 (like most lol). I'm just wondering if this will have any impact on it, or if it will run like a normal hard drive and won't matter. Thanks in advance.

It shouldn't matter.

hmm ok, that's kind of what I was thinking too. Thanks for your reply. I'll put her in the server here in the next day or two and see what happens. Thanks again.

If it is a 4200 rpm one it will probably be a bit slow.
