View Full Version : Internal Card Readers..
I am planning on installing an internal card reader into my build that i plan to work on.
Does anyone have any good suggestions of card readers?
Greatly appreciated :)

They are fairly standard these days. I have a Mitsumi unit that works fine.
Quick note though, do not install it until after Windows is setup. Otherwise the card reader will steal the driver letters, like C:.
I like the Mitsumi combo floppy drive/card reader.
so what your saying is i should first?
- Install the OS and download all the drivers
- download all the window updates (if any are available)
and then proceed to install the card reader?
Yes. Install Windows with only one hard drive and one optical drive connected, and NO USB devices or other peripherals except a keyboard and mouse. You can connect the rest of the drives, card reader, etc. as soon as Windows is installed. Don't connect USB devices without reading the installation instructions first - drivers may have to be installed PRIOR to connecting the device.

I have the Mitsumi combo unit, and it works well. And yes, don't connect it until AFTER windows is installed. Been there, done that, got the G: boot drive...
You can connect the floppy ribbon and power cable - just don't connect the USB cable.
