computer shuts down when using Nero

Everytime I try using nero both version 5 & 6 my computer shutsdown. When I click on the desktop icon it opens up the program but as soon as I click on it to burn or copy a CD it shuts down the computer and I have to restarted it again. I have another program called B's recorder gold basic and when I use it I have no problem, any ideas why Nero shuts down my computer?

Look in Event Viewer : Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer
This may give you your first clue.
It would help if you'd post your specs and your operating system for the rest of us.
