I have the WD Caviar 320Gig SATA 16Mb Cacher etc. I purchased it OEM and came ALive. All seem well, except One thing. Now this is my first time looking at a HD that is outside of the case, so it might or might a problem so bear w/ me x.x The drive come and work fine, except near the edge of the drive, the metal thing kind of peeled off. I am talking about the hard metal that act as the cover. Look liek manufacture defect of the encasing, because it is really hard when I try to flatten it.
I do not know if this is going to be a problem in the long term, as I would liek it not to, so should I RMA for replacement? I do not mind the defect as long as it not going to come back and bite me later.

Well there is the possibility of dirt getting in the case causing you some problems. I would RMA if it was me. Like the saying goes...

Look liek manufacture defect of the encasing, because it is really hard when I try to flatten it.That's normal. I've seen lots and lots of hard drives that look like that. That's just the way the hard drive casings are made.I do not know if this is going to be a problem in the long term, as I would liek it not to, so should I RMA for replacement? No, not yet.I do not mind the defect as long as it not going to come back and bite me later. Can you take a digital picture of this "defect" and attach the image to your next post. If we can see the "defect" we can tell you if you have a problem or not.
I honestly don't think there's a problem with the hard drive.

There are not any, it is just the metal thing. Too bad I do not have any digital camera readily at hand, otherwise I would have upload a picture.

There is normally a small gap between the case and the lid where there is a gasket. If the gap is all the way round, then it is fine. If the gap is significantly larger somwhere in particular, then there is a defect and you should RMA the drive.

Kay, I will go and do that.
But wait, should I liek clean the HD before I return it? I installed the OS and some monitor programs and Rome Total War, crack version :P in it.
My only known method is delete the partion.
Zero fill it.
