I am spec’ing out a new build with a budget of $1,500, sans hard drives since I already have two 320 Gb’s I will bring over from my current machine. This might be a backwards way of doing it but I always seem to pick out everything except the motherboard, because I have the most trouble choosing it, I never know which chipset to go with. Please let me know what you think of this build and which MB would work well with it, thanks.

Right now the cost is at $1,166, and then I figure a nice MB will be another $200, which will bring me under budget at $1,366, although I may decide to add a 1TB hard drive if they come down a bit. But I was looking at this MB http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813131190
But again there are so many out there that look good, I mainly just want something that is stable, I am not looking to OC or tweak around with this machine.

We usually recommend a flavor of the Asus P5K. So you're on track. :)

Don't forget an OS in the budget and could get a 80 or 160 gig HD to get you started while waiting to get the monster HD. Go SATA for your HDs.

get a 64 bit Os if you're going with the 4gb of ram though

don't forget monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers.

I have the OS covered, as well as monitor, KB mouse, ect. The $1,500 is the budget for just the tower itself.
