I just build my computer using an ASUS M2NPV-VM AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard. Everything is up and running now but my computer won't recognize that I have plugged in speakers. Even itunes says that my audio isn't configured correctly. Also my headphone and mic jack on the front of the tower don't work. I double checked all my connections and they are in the right places. Do you think that the sound card on the board could be bad? I'm about to go buy a cheap sound card at the local computer store but I shouldn't have to.

Have you installed the drivers for your motherboards audio?
They will be on the disk that came with your motherboard.
or you can download them here http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=M2NPV-VM&SLanguage=en-us (click audio)

No problem :p
Heck, the first time I built a computer I had the exact same issue. At least you were smart enough to ask about it. I wasn't. Long story short, I went out and bought a sound card :D
Enjoy your rig.
