install airport on laptop

so my macbook pro, came with the airport extreme card. and i dont know why. it connects to the internet, and i not sure how to open it so can stick the airport extreme card in.

Rumor has it that it does just screw right down onto the motherboard. As to why they didn't install it initially is beyond me, but I'd call 'em up and let them know what happened. You don't want to dive into a laptop and start tinkering with a screwdriver. 'Specially not on a Mac.

well, there must be something. installed already, cuase i can connect to the internet and everything. do you think this airport extreme card is better than what was already installed? or a backup. if ya dont know ill just go ahead and call. my roomate can install it for me if its needed

I actually heard a complaint or 2 about the card. A guy in your position installed the card and experienced huge slowdowns when he began downloads. Remember though that it could be in part to his poor installation, and that it was 1 of only 2 incidents that I heard of.

I know that was clear as mud, but you might just wanna make the call. At least you should try not to void your warranty by cracking it open.
