Total novive at building, new idea

I've been shooting ideas out on paper the last few days, and this seemed to stick. it IS a computer, just a very.... New Age design.

im trying to fit it all in a 5" cube (yes, i know CDs cant fit, im expectin to upload the OS in a flash drive if possible) on the front of the cube, have one of these

that would allow easy and portable keyboarding. for the screen, on top i want to have this projector (when it arrives in mass profuction, still a year or more off)

On the back of the cube, to have a foldout screen to catch the projection for a (predicted)
7" screen. Since it is emerging as a new common feature, mount a fingerprint scanner on the side of the cube for security. Of course, this all sounds childish and dreamy without the core electronics. That is the thing i need help on. So far ive recognized that the Via corporation (via.com) has small motherboards. id like to use the nano version. Beyond that, im worried ill do something wrong if i try to go farther. help?

Sounds like your trying to make a PC in the smallest of places. If you go ahead with it, that's your choice, but by the sounds of what your doing, perhaps you'd be better of with a Mac? At least it's all done for you then and it's all held in the monitor.

thanks cricket- thats EXACTLY what im looking for. any ideas how to make it have a portable power source?

im tryin to get a mini computer for on-the-go tryping, without the slowness and hard use of a PDA. (not a fan of laptops)

Find out what kind of power it needs (AC, DC, voltage) and devise some kind of battery pack with appropriate transformers, inverters, whatever. Whether you are a fan of laptops or not, that's really the best way to go if you want to run something on batteries. That thing still needs a monitor........

ah thank you. ive gained some perspective, and seeing the options, ill go with the fit PC, and just plug it in (imagine that :rolleyes: ) i was going to make a small station for stock brokerage, and i think 2-3 of these with 2-3 screens will do great. thanks for your help
