before i brought cod4 i started having internet problems where my net would cut out.
when i go to my NIC properties it says that im not sending or receiving packets, but i can access the internet... just sometimes it cuts out and dosent work.
any ideas anyone?

Have you tried disabling zonealarm?
Do you also have Windows firewall?
Get rid of Zone Alarm, set up the XP firewall, update the firmware in your router, hard reset it, reconfigure it, and reboot your modem.
hello and thanks for replys..
unfortunately i am a little more confused :S
i have disabled zone and set up xp firewall and my firmware is up to date...
when i turned my modem off and back on i realized that my 1394 net adapter is still connected, it didnt disconnect when i turned it off?..
and my Nvidia network controller was the one the the connection seems to be going through.
the nvidia controller is sending and receiving packets and so is the internet gatway, i thought that it may have been zonealarm so tested cod 4 amd did some browsing and i still have the same issue.
sorry for my lack of network knowlege.
i will ring my isp today to see what they say.
Have you reset the router?
Don't worry about the 1394, that's Firewire.
how do i reset?
wait if i dont have to worry about the 1394 then i am sending or receiving packets through my Nvidia network controller..
i just experienced the net going down and while it was down i looked at my gateway properties and it was saying not available where the packets are usually shown same to speed and duration.. do you think that it could be a problem at my end or isp's end?
Try disconnecting the router power for 1 minute. That's a soft reset.
thanks you very much... everything (atm) seems to be working..i hope that it stays this way..:) :D
thanks for the help
