Just recently, my computer started freezing when Ethernet cord isn't connected, but works fine when its connected. It just locks up at the windows loading screen. Strangest thing I've ever seen.
Asus P5k with onboard networking.
Windows xp home sp2
Thanks for any help.

What if you reboot with the cable unplugged?
Have you scanned for viruses, and spyware?
Do you have the latest drivers installed?

What if you reboot with the cable unplugged?
Plugged-in=Working, Unpluged=Freezes at start up, Unpluging-while-on=Working
Have you scanned for viruses, and spyware?
yup, I only came up with some tracking cookies.
Do you have the latest drivers installed?
yup latest.
I have found something out though, If is disable my wired internet in windows (which is ok for the moment, i have wireless) and remove the cord before I reboot the computer it works fine, but other wise it just freezes.
Still strange, but I can live with it. (If theres a permanent fix I'm more than willing to try it)

Can you boot into safe mode while the cable is unplugged?
If not, try looking in bios to see if there is something about boot from lan.
