problem while hard booting... plz help

Hi i have a problem booting my pc, my pc wont hard boot properly on first few attempts, what happens is when i hard boot i hear 3 beep sounds and nothing happens no BIOS screen only a blank screen appears,then i have to turn on and off the pc couple of times until one time where it boots properly(without any beep sounds)after that there is no problem...well..until the next hard boot.

i also read the mobo manual to know about the beep codes and it says 3 beep sounds appears because of a faulty ram, but once the PC boots properly(without any beep sounds) it works fine there is absolutley no issue.

So is there any solution to this problem other than replacing memory sticks or keeping the pc ON 24/7.

Here is my PC specs

Intel core 2 duo 2.66Ghz
Mobo DG33BU
Nvidia 8600 GT Video card
1GB x 2 RAM 800 Mhz (running in Dual channel mode).
250GB SATA harddisk seagate

But once the PC boots properly(without any beep sounds) it works fine there is absolutley no issue, This means RAM must be working fine right?

when i soft boot as many times i want there is no problem. The problem is only during the cold boot.

I believe this is due to "first 64k memory failure" does it mean that the L1 or L2 cache is causing the problem?

Nope, it means the ram is bad. Just because the pc works fine once it actually boots doesn't mean the ram is fine, sometimes the ram passes the POST (Power on self test) and the pc boots, other times the ram fails the POST and the pc doesn't boot and the pc reports a memory failure.

Hi thanks for all the advise given to me.

After searching for a solution through google and doing a lot of reading i found out that, both of my RAM sticks are working fine, when they are run individually(Single channel mode), i did not get any beeps or any errors.

I even tried inserting the RAMs in Channel A DIMM 0, Channel A DIMM 1, i dint get any beeps the PC booted normally except for message saying that the amount of RAM should be same in both the channels to improve performance or something.

But when i tried to boot the PC in Dual channel mode (one RAM in Channel A DIMM 0 and another in Channel B DIMM 0) then i got 3 beep sounds.

It seems i'm not being able run my PC with RAMs in Dual channel mode.

Does anyone know why?

Are the ram sticks exactly the same brand, size and model? If they are the motherboard could be bad.

Does anyone know why?A few years ago I was building a lot of basic office type computers with Intel motherboards and a few of them had the same problem...system would work fine if I installed the RAM in the Single Channel DDR memory slots but wouldn't boot if I installed the RAM in the Dual Channel DDR memory slots. I had to RMA every motherboard that did this and the replacement motherboards worked fine.

I have since switched to building with ASUS motherboards and haven't come across this problem since.

It's possible your power supply is marginal - what brand and model is it?
