for the case im looking for one i the $50-$90 price range, peferably a case where the PSU is located on the bottom and it has a tool-less design

Not a bad list. The motherboard you chose uses the not ready for primetime DDR3 however. The X38 chipset is too new to recommend. Stick with the Asus P5K-SE instead. Then you can use the RAM in your list.

Take a look at the Geforce 8800GT video card as well as the new Radeon 3850 and 3750. They all offer a great bang for the buck.

thanks Alaron, do you know if the asus p5k-se will support the new peryn cpu's by intel once realesed? what im looking for in this new build is the upgradability, to keep up to date with the latest gear without having to build a whole new system, every year or so. do you think i should wait it out a few months for a new build?
