i already have a 1gb stick of Geil ram in my mobo, will another 1gb stick of ram be do-able? just making sure bc i vaguely remember reading something about how to put the sticks in, and sometimes certain combinations don't work. thanks.

Should be fine. That mobo has a max of 3 GB, so you've still got plenty of room. Just try to get as close to the other stick as possible (brand, speed, CAS latency, etc).

ok so i got a new stick of RAM and put it in, same brand as my 1st gig of Geil RAM. Ever since then, while playing WoW, my PC occasionally just blacks out and i get a loud buzzing noise from my speakers, it's sort of an ugly crash. any idea what's going on here?

Have you tried setting the speed and timings and voltage manually for the ram?

I'd suggest testing with Memtest86+ to determine if the new stick is defective or if the two are incompatible. Any errors at all would indicate a problem. Test each stick individually and with the pair intalled.

no i have not.
i think i tried memtest b4 but couldnt figure out how to run it for one reason or another...
anyways, i put it in the 2nd slot instead of the 3rd slot, we'll see how it goes.

well it still happens but not as frequently as before, like once every other day maybe. this is not the first new stick of ram i have gone through, so i don't think it's the RAM, but maybe something else like the motherboard maybe...
