new build powers off after startup

I just finished building my g/f a new computer and after putting everything together, it starts up fine, and then regardless of what I'm doing at the moment (usually in BIOS) the computer will shut off after about a minute of it being on. The PSU is good because it's in the computer that I'm using right now and it's been on for a half hour.

This is my first time putting one together from scratch, so I'll admit its definitely possible that I did something wrong, but as far as I can tell, it's all correct. Any ideas what might be causing it to turn off after a minute or two?

Asus SLI NF650I SLI775 Mobo
XFX GeForce 8600GT 256MB Video Card
OCZ600SXS 600W PSU
Intel E6600 2.4G 775 CPU
DDR2 800 Mushkin 2x 1 GB RAM Sticks
Western Digital 320GB SATA2 Hard Drive

The LGA775 heatsink is difficult to install, especially if the motherboard is already in the case. It's possible the heatsink isn't installed properly and isn't making good contact with the CPU heatspreader. Here's a good LGA775 heatsink installation tutorial. Sorry, should have also included that I'm using a Zerotherm 92MM 2 Ball cooler. But, to be on the safe side, I did check, and it's seated properly. Any other ideas?

Are you sure that heatsink is installed properly? With the computer shutting down after a minute it really sounds like the CPU is overheating and shutting down to save itself.

Do you have access to another similar computer you can swap parts with?

I'm pretty sure. But I do have the manufacture fan and heatsink as well. I'll give that one a try and post the results.

I got it working. You were exactly right. I had put the clip on the bottom of the ZeroTherm on wrong. Everything is runnin like a charm now. Got Windows installed and the drivers updated. Thanks a ton.
