Hello everyone and thanks for letting me join in.

Ive built before but this issue has me stumped....which means I either forgot how in my old age or never knew how. Here is the issue: My Thermaltake Soprano case has AC97 audio connectors for the front side audio ports. Now they are all individual wires and not an all in one plug. Each separate wire has to be plugged separately into each audio header pin on the Mobo. Now the Mobo (XFX Nvidia 650i Chipset) has only HD audio headers. I dont know which wire plugs into what pin on the MoBo to let the front side audio work. I know it can be done b/c I think I did it on my last build. Here is the schematic:

AC97 wire labels from the case:

Red- Ear R
White- Return R
Green- Ear L
Yellow- Return L
Red- Mic In
White- MIC VCC/MICBIAS
Black- Ground

The motherboard header is labled as follows:

Pin 1 Port1_L
Pin 2 Aud_GND
Pin 3 Port1_R
Pin 4 Presence_J
Pin 5 Port2_R
Pin 6 Sense1_Return
Pin 7 SENSE_SEND
Pin 8 Empty
Pin 9 Port2_L
Pin 10 Sense2_Return

Does someone know which wires from the case should connect to which pins on the MoBo?

Thanks

The instructions for this should be in your motherboard manual
