I'm looking to replace my current motherboard which is an ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe. My only concern is that this ECS KA3 MVP (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135024) has an ATI based chipset, an AMD 580X Crossfire. Now I own an Nvidia 8800GTS video card. My question is.. not only will it be compatible, but would I run into any issues when I decide to do an SLI?
Single card => Should run, but performance will probably not be maxed, and there may be issues.
SLI => No, you will need a MB with an Nvidia SLI chipset. Or use 2 ATI cards with the ECS KA3 for Crossfire.
I'd stay FAR away from an ECS motherboard.
Why do you want to replace a perfectly good current tech Asus board anyway? If you are having sound issues, why not just disable the onboard sound and get a card?

do you have to and if you do, how do you disable the onboard mobo sound if you want to get a seperate sound card?

Aerandirel, usually adding the sound card will automatically turn the onboard sound off. If not, you'll find an option in the BIOS to disable onboard sound. If you have further questions, please start your own thread. :)
