Internet Explorer Tab Browsing Problems

I've had problems over the last couple of days with tabbed browsing. Everything works fine apart from when I click a link in a webpage and select "open in new tab" - the new tab opens but it just says connecting... on the tab and never loads the page. Open in new window no longer opens a window i.e. nothing happens at all!

If I open a tab manually and paste the URL into the address bar everything works fine.

I can't seem to find a way to repair Internet Explorer.

Just download Internet Explorer, uninstall your current installation and install from the file you downloaded.

liambl - Sorry didn't mention I'm on Vista - therefore it'll only let me download a version for another machine and Vista isn't a option I can only download the XP version!

Kov-Ice - not exactly helpful! ;) I have Firefox along with god knows how many other browsers. I'm a web developer and seeing as IE has a majority share of the market I can't work without it!
