Hello Guys,

I recently upgrade all my hardware including my Video Card which is GeForce 2600 256 MB DDR2. And I was wondering which TFT to buy. I am ready to bring CiBox 22 inches Widescreen TFT or Asus VW191S 19 inches widescreen TFT. I am not really in gaming and which one of the two TFT will be better with my Graphic Card ? My heart is biaised with the 22 inches one but I would like to hear from you pros. Thank you very much.

First, if you do any graphics editing, then get a CRT monitor. It's much better for accurate color reproduction.
But if you just email, browse the Internet, and run general applications, then either one of those LCD monitors will serve your purpose well. However, one feature that they both lack is a digital input connection. But if your video card has only a VGA output connection, then it's irrelevant.
Did you also consider Samsung and Viewsonic? Both offer a lot of bang for the buck.

No offence Ski, I did check lately the Asus 19 inches has a DVI interface. The latter was my primary goal of selection. My Video card also got a Digital output. I am considering Samsung if if I can found the cheapest one around. Can I ask you a question : do you think that 22 inches TFT can be slightly demanding for my GeForce 6200 256 MB DDR2 ?

If you play any games then it will probably be a bit too much. However, LCDs are getting much better at color reproduction. I have yet to see a CRT compare with this 22" Samsung I've got.

22" LCD monitors have a resolution of 1680 x 1050 .
Geforce 62OO : Max Resolution of 2048 x 1536

22" LCDs are often HDMI capable but nVidia's performance against the 2400/2600 cards was abysmal (8600 series).
So if you've got any HD movie ideas you'll need another card, no matter what the specs for the 6200 say.

Thanks pam123 for your wisdom of Hindsight, I am not interested in HD movie. I am an average pc user. I have already set my mind on 19" TFT screen. Thanks a lot for your guide.

Not according to the specs at the Asus site:

I have 19" wide screen, Samsung 941 BW 14400 x 900.
It's a general purpose monitor ( office, movies, games, TV) and I've yet to fault it.

OK, it's not the 30" of my dreams and it's not HDMI.

I did settle my mind on a 19 inches screen HANNSpree. It seems to be ok but the software cd does not offer much. I don't know if I will ever going to need it. Unless I am adivise otherwise. Thank you for your comment.

Yep pam123 you acccurately pointed your finger on it. But I love the screen to be honest. I think my GeForce graphic card software did take over. I will finetune it over the week-end. Thank a lot for your support.
