Password Field Looses Focus After 22 Characters

My user account password for Vista is more than 22 characters. Quite regularly, when I'm typing it in, the password field seems to loose focus after 22 characters. I recognize that I'm still typing, and no more bullets are appearing in the password field, and I automatically know where it left off; I counted it at 22 characters. It doesn't seem to happen at any other points in my password.

I know I could just make my password 22 characters and not deal with, but I'm curious if anybody has an explanation or possible explanation for this weird bug.

Your password does work doesn't it?
If so, sounds like a screen anomaly...I think you can use up to 255 characters.

Yea, it works just fine. I'm typing...and then the bullets stop appearing. I click in the password field, after the end of what's been typed so far, and put in the rest of my password.

Just tried it on mind. It took characters until the end of the password box. After that you couldn't see what you were typing any more.
