Greetings,

What I'm going to try and do is, load XP 32 on a 250gb HD by itself to be the C:\
And then have Vista 64 Ultimate on another pair of 250bg HD's in RAID 0. Which do I install first. Any good reads on this subject?

Both are full copies (OEM). Once I'm comfortable with Vista 64 and make sure everything is working correctly... I'd like to dump XP32 and load up a distro of Linux to experiment with....

Thanks

Always install the oldest OS first.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread...

I am also interested in this, but I am kind of a noob. I am building a new PC that will serve as a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) for my home studio, and also a home computer and media server. I really want to start messing with Vista 64, but many of my DAW applications require XP. Right now, I have 2 hard drives...a Seagate 500GB SATA drive (primary drive) and a Seagate 250GB SATA (reserved for DAW recording only). Could I just partition my 500GB drive and run both OS's? What about memory? Could I install 4GB knowing that the XP boot can only use 2GB?

New PC:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 Rev 2 Mobo
2 GB DDR2 800

Could I just partition my 500GB drive and run both OS's? -> Yes. Would require a full format or the purchase of Partition Magic. (about $75 USD)

Could I install 4GB knowing that the XP boot can only use 2GB?-> Yes. (xp32bit will use 3 to 3.5 gigs)
