today I had my first post op exam and I checked out with 20/20 vision in both eyes.
just for the fun of it, I stopped by the sectary of state office to see if I could pass the eye exam for the drivers license, they let me do it and I passed good, they said they will remove the corrective lenses from my drivers license when I renew it next year.

the cost of the surgery $2500.00 each eye.
I can see things I have never seen before.

now I got to change that member photo that is posted, I don't look that bad at all.

I really want to get my eyes fixed but I'm a little nervous and don't have to funds right now. I guess if they screwup my lens they can just put new ones in. Good to hear of a success.

Bailey, did they do the lenses for farsightedness? They didn't offer that when I had my cataracts done but that has been six years ago.

yes you can choose which type of lens focal length you want, I have been nearsighted all my life, and I asked for the lens for distance.
so now I can see clearly from 8 inches to infinity .

if I chose the middle one, then I would need to wear bi-focals. and if I chose the other for close up vision, then I would need glasses for distance.

there is a special lense that does cover all distance, close and distance, but that one is very expensive, and medicare would not pay for it.

the lenses I got are the newest and latest,

and no need for glasses any more.

today was the very first time in my life I could see anything in the eye test for the drivers license without glasses, I just had to do it to experience it. it was a great feeling.

just maybe my vision is not as good as I first thought it was.

I was repairing a pare of glasses for a distance realitive and tried them on to see how they worked with my vision, to my surprise I found that I could see a tree that is a good 1/3 mile away from me and I could see it so clear that I could count all the branches on it, with out the glasses, I could still see the branches but not good enough to be able to count them.

so I may want to get glasses after all.

Give it more time & let it settle in. Time does change things. Wait a few weeks & see what happens. Us old farts adapt slower. LOL

How bad were your eyes when you decided to get corrective eye surgery? For me one of my eyes is -500, and the other is -300, the optometrist does not recommend me getting it.

and the cataract's were bad, I think they said something like 300-400, and my close up vision was like having built in maginfiers, excellent close up.
