If you have office 2007 and plan to upgrade to sp3 you may want to read this article.

You mean Office 2003. Office 2007 isn't up to SP3 just SP1.

I don't see where it say it's going to block Windows 10 or 11 file formats. There earlies format block that I seen in the MS support page is MS Office 6 which is 15 years old. Until someone shows referenced material of where those formats will be blocked I'm calling this guy just another MS hater that does crappy research. Use Open Office I you hate MS so much.

And now, after getting some real backlash, Microsoft has released this : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938810/en-us

I'm still completely happy with my trusty old Office 97. If I used Outlook, that would be a different story though, Outlook 97 is terrible.

So is his blog out-of-date now? Did they change SP3? That MS support link is the same linked in his blog and what he says doesn't match the MS page.

Here's an update (http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=1076&tag=nl.e539) on the issue. MS has backtracked apparently
