Outlook Outbox

XP Outllok is not deleting sent mail from outbox and won't let me delete them or move them to another folder. Has been working fine for a couple of years and just started this this morning. The only thing I have done was deleted temp internet files and cookies.

When I hit send/recieve I get an error msg and it don't dnld new mail, but it is sending the same messages in the outbox everytime I do snd/rec.

When I try to delete outbox messages I get error..."The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook." ...I have restarted my computer 2 or 3 times with no help...

Take a look at your pst file size. All versions before Outlook 2003 have a 2 gig limit on the file size. If it gets close, it'll do all sorts of wird stuff.

Thanks!!! I deleted my "deleted Items" and that fixed it...

BTW pst file size was 1,907,824 kb

You need to use the archive fuction...Can tell it to archive mail older then X number of months...It will move them to a newly create pst file.....

Also, backup the pst file while you can...Run the compact function After you back up will help a little bit.
