AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+ 2.16GHz processor? My computer is a Compaq Presario S6500NX with 1GB RAM and a Radeon 1650XPRO 512MB card in the mail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102073). I feel now that the RAM was upgraded 512 and a card that is 20x better than the onboard graphics card put in here, my CPU is a little low. Is there anyway I can maybe boost the GHz up a little bit? And if so, how? I have never overclocked before but I would like to give it a shot. I am also an average gamer, I don't play nothing like BF or any of those top notch games...just games like Flyff, Rose Online, CS:S and etc.

You won't be able to overclock your system because it belongs to compaq and i don't think they put any overclocking features in their motherboard. Most if not all bought computers are not overclockable.

Yep...you can't overclock a Compaq.
You might be able to put a slightly faster CPU in there though.

Ah well, thanks for the fast replies guys. I guess it won't be that bad to play with since it's not that bad of a CPU. Thanks for all your help.
Quick question: I seen some topics on other sites where people were overclocking my CPU. I can't do it because this a Compaq computer, correct?

Correct. The motherboard made for HP doesn't have any overclocking features built into it so you won't be able to manually modify any settings.

No, actually you can overclock the proccesor, by running a thin wire between some of the pins.
http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?http://www.ocinside.de/html/workshop/pinmod/amd_pinmod.html
The XP Barton 166 FSB has a stock multiplier of 6.5 Systembus (13) and if it is changed to 7 (14) with the pin mod, it will run at 2.3 Ghz.
The 3000+ came in barton and Thorton with FSB's of both 166 and 200, so be carful.

COOL! I didn't even know about this one myself. If your willing to remove your cpu and add the wire between your pins... Go ahead.
I actually have to try this one myself :)

No problem, i found that mod out a few years ago when i was looking to overclock my Athlon MP 1400+ :)
The tbird is still in my closet:)
Ahhhh the old Socket A days, I had alot of fun in those times. I doubt the pin mod would work for your processor. I wouldnt try a pin mod. Alot of the 3000+ and 3200+ CPUs were poor overclockers. You may need to up the voltage to do the pin mod, something you cant do on an OEM board.
