I have a new PSU (FSB 500W dual rail) and motherboard (MSI K9A Platinum) and nothing at all happens when I turn the PC on. I was having trouble telling if the PSU or mobo is dead.
Does this mobo have a power light when the PSU is turned on? Because I don't see one on the board or in the manual. My ABIT mobo has one. I tried connecting the new PSU to my ABIT mobo to rule out a dead PSU. The 20-pin power plug does not fit real snug but the mobo red power light did come on.

Does this mobo have a power light when the PSU is turned on? Because I don't see one on the board or in the manual.Almost all newer motherboards have the power indicator LED on them somewhere. Does the power supply have a rocker switch on the back? The side with the "1" pushed down is the "ON" position.I tried connecting the new PSU to my ABIT mobo to rule out a dead PSU. The 20-pin power plug does not fit real snug but the mobo red power light did come on.But does the ABIT boot up?

Did you try another power supply on the MSI yet?

The new FSB has a rocker switch and no power indicator on the MSI mobo comes on with the switch on. I didn't boot the ABIT up with the FSB PSU because the power plug does not completely snap onto the mobo connector because there's a diode or capacitor in the way. I had to physically hold the power plug down to try and get a decent connection.

Why don't they point out the power indicator LED in the mobo manual?
