Are there any performance updates for Windows Vista 64-bit, to enhance gaming and other things as well

service pack 1 will be coming out in the spring. I don't know that there are any specific gaming updates. Alot of people don't realize that to run vista and the games you need the hardware. I havent had any game slow downs running my current rig. I also stopped caring about frames per second because if I don't notice the lag when i am playing then my frames are good.

I can't agree more. With games like Crysis I just don't look at the fps, run everthing on high, and if there is no lag everything is good.
But you do need the hardware.

Vista SP1 Beta is available for download. I installed it a few weeks ago but the only difference, that has been obvious, is a shorter boot time.

What new hardware do I need? I mean my Graphics card is pretty good and everything else seems fine.
I have have similar pc specs. In all honesty I don't have vista 64. Just 32 bit. Maybe ther is a difference I don't know.
Are you getting poor performance with most of your games?
Do you think other apps could be running in the back ground? Like Norton or something?

After I installed it on mine the pc would go into random reboots, and that was it. could not even boot into safe mode.. They only way I was able to save the OS without doing a clean install was running a trick that was made for SP2 when it frist had its issue and then I could go into safe mode and delete it..
