As the saying goes "The more, the better" however, perhaps not true sometimes. My PC has several freebie virus, spyware, etc. softwares. I purchased the Norton Antivrius 2008 but I have problem installing it. It kept showing an error which needs to be reported. I don't know what the error was but I tried loading it a few times but no joy. Is it possible that the other security softwares I have is interferring with the Norton software? If I uninstalled all the exisiting security software what one security software would any of you recommend that will give me the best protection for my PC?

Thanks

Don

Do you have the antivirus programs running in background while trying to install Norton's? If you are, try disabling everything that is running before you install Norton's.

If you really want to install Norton, uninstall *ALL* other antivirus and antispyware software first and run a temp file/registry cleaning utility such as CCleaner. Then install Norton, and only ONE antispyware that provides background protection.

I personally would not install Norton, and would install AVG Free antivirus - and install either AVG Antispyware or Super Antispyware and leave it at that.
