MP4 To DVD

I got a 700mb file animatiion video which is about 6 hours long,
if i just stick it onto a cd rather than burn it and convert the format,
will it work on my dvd player as an mp4?

If your DVD player plays Divx, avi, or VCD, then you could just burn the 700MB file no problem. Most newer DVD players play those formats.
