Fan cooling

Hello I bought a dell and the fan seems awful quiet. The airflow is barely discernable out of the back. I'm worried that my system isn't cooling properly.
On boot up the fan makes a whirring sound for a second and then after that I can barely hear the thing from there on out. Should I be able to feel any heat on the air vent at the back, it does get warm after lots of gaming and the airflow seems to stay about the same, I can barely feel movement.

if you want better air flow, measure the fan size, then order a better fan off the internet. I use www.newegg.com for my comp stuff. removing the old fan should not be too hard, only a matter of some screws or clips or however the dell people stuffed it in there; and installing a new one is a snap with screws that are provided with the fan that you buy.

Should I be able to feel any heat on the air vent at the back, it does get warm after lots of gaming and the airflow seems to stay about the same, I can barely feel movement.I wouldn't worry about the computer overheating...DELL does a good job when it comes to balancing fan noise and system performance. You'll know when there is a overheating problem...you'll get problems like lockups, freezing, random reboots or random shutdowns...basically the computer will be very unstable. Just leave your DELL alone (if you mess with anything you'll void the warranty).

The fans are slowing down after the bios turns on smart fan control or whatever it is. If you system warms up the motherboard should increase the fan speed to cool it off again.
