webcam recommendations

Hi guys,

So I'm in the market for a webcam, and also want to recommend one to a friend as well.
My friend is running Mac Os X 10.3.9 on a g4 powerbook, and I'm running Linux on my custom rig.

I can spend around $100 USD on mine, but she would like something a bit cheaper. Do I tell her to stick to apple products, or would anything work well? I've always trusted Logitech, but if you have any other recommendations please let me know.

We'd both like to use skype for this btw.

Logitech is definitely a trustworthy brand. However, you might also want to check out some of creative's and kodak's webcam as well.

I can't comment on the mac.
