I just wanted to let everyone know that I just update my Spybot Search and Destroy to 1.5.2, and that it seems to have fixed the delayed start issue it had. It now starts up nice and quick, just like it should.

You might want to give it a good update yourselves.

(Took awhile to update though.)

Thanks for the heads-up, shadowpr. I'll have to get that updated.

lol, was about to post about the update too.

It does start quicker, just as it did when it was 1.4, the bug that made the Update module appear to crash has been fixed and lastly immunize doesn't always need to be applied twice unlike it did under 1.5.

Haven't had a chance to test it against any malware yet.

Just an FYI.....I don't know if it was just my install or whether it'll happen to everybody, but I had to totally delete the previous install and start from scratch with the 1.5.2 installer.

I thought maybe it would just update the existing install, because when I did a search for updates the 1.5.2 program update showed up in the list. I DL'ed it and installed it that way and the scanner part worked fine, but the immunizer was hosed. When I'd select Immunize, it would get part way through and then hang with like 6,504 possible immunizations left. It wouldn't ever get passed that either.....just kept showing the graphic of it building that little brick wall over and over again. LOL! :D Works fine now that I installed from scratch though, so if your immunizer doesn't work, just go back and DL the installer, delete the old version, and install the new version.

Thanks in advance!!

If you want some good anti-spyware that's free, I would suggest:

Spybot Search and Destroy
Spyware Blaster
AVG Anti-Spyware
Super Anit-spyware

Also:
CCleaner
And one of these: AVG Anti-virus, Avast antivirus, or Avira Antivirus.

If you need more info, just search, there are a few threads talking about different security programs, or start your own thread and ask away.

Free active Antispyware (use only one active+Spyware Blaster, don't know about Mamutu)

Windows Defender
Spyware Terminator
TheatFire
Mamutu (new, free for a couple more hrs for 1 yr)

Others are manual scans only after free trial.

Thanks in advance!!Darren. Can you please start a new thread here in the Securities forum and give us a little information so that we can help you.
What operating system are you using?
What happened that caused you to install that antispyware program? (Adware Alert)
Where did you see that antispyware program advertised?
Please answer these questions in your new thread.
