No Video Signal on Initial Boot Up

I just completed building my system, and when I powered it on, there was no signal on the monitor. When I turned it on, all case fans and the CPU heatsink fan began spinning, and the hard drive seemed to start up but there nothing was displayed on my monitor. Any tips or suggestions?

I don't know if this helps, but when I power on the system, the power LED turns on but then quickly turns off. Does the mean anything?

Also, post back after that with a list of all parts, make and model, including power supply.
