Hi guys.
Apologies if the details here are too vague, I am trying to sort out a problem for my parents and the hardware in question is not with me but with them.
We have purchased a new Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop. They have broadband with a DLink router (will need to confirm the model but it's like this one (http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=326). They have followed the router installation instructions, and can connect to the internet using the cable. However we want to connect with wireless, but the instructions do not cover this.
Within Vista, looking at the Network sections under control panel, the wireless network is there. When you click 'connect' it appears to connect without a problem. But then, under the network properties if you 'diagnose' the connection it says it is connected but not able to establish a connection to the internet.
What are the obvious things I should look for? Thanks for any advice.
