Hey everybody,

I am currently running 10.5.1(Leopard) & I would like to run Windows applications on my Laptop. Would I need to install a separate copy of Windows on a Windows emulator or would I need to just get an emulator program that can run the Windows application without having to install the OS?

I need a reliable program so that I can run Windows applications on my Macintosh, specifically Audio programs(such as this: http://transparentcorp.com/)

I'd rather just Run the Applications within Cross Over Mac, like it says, without having to buy Windows OS(Like Cross Over Mac allows me too) but I'm afraid that The program that I want to run, may not run correctly.

The company suggested Paralells.

Not sure how good this is: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bootcamp.html

http://www.parallels.com/

Thanks!

I have only recently started using a Mac fro my day-to-day stuff. I work in a very Windows centric environment and am required to use some proprietary Windows tools.

To overcome this need to use Windows software, I got myself a copy of Parallels. Now, I have used VMware in various forms (Workstation, GSX, ESX) for awhile on my Windows and Linux machines and have generally been satisfied with them....

However, Parallels on my Mac is very interesting indeed.....there is a much closer relationship between host and guest OS.....file sharing, drag and drop between them....it just all works so much better. I can even open a Windows program or document under OS X and have it automatically open Windows VM + application.

It really feels like more of an extension of the OS than a separate VM......

Interesting and impressive...I would recommend you try it.
