Would be great to have a forum dedicated to those of us who build Servers of all kinds, multi processor professional workstations. High end non-gaming computers. :)

It seems to me that building any kind of PC fits into the BYOPC forum.

Hardly, Build your own computer is mostly for people who are new to building home PCs, that is not a suitable forum in my opinion to discuss building servers and professional workstations. I have posted in the past regarding such projects on several of the existing forums and the only one I ever get a response from is glc. It would be mind enriching to get more people involved with such projects.
I am hoping we could do it here at PCmech since I have been here for over years.

Realistically though, there may not be many regular members with larger server experience which would be why GLC may be your only person answering. I had the same problems when I was looking at server components and help.
We are discussing the possibility of a subforum under BYOPC, but we are concerned whether it will get any traffic.

For those of us that don’t get it, can you give one or two examples of the differences between a High end non-gaming computers and a High end gaming machine?
And aren’t people who build “servers of all kinds” almost beyond the point of needing help?
The video card is probably the only significant difference between a high end workstation and a high end gaming machine. The only significant difference between a server and a workstation is the storage system unless you are going for a true server motherboard and ECC ram, which really isn't necessary for small servers.

I just started working on building Music production computers, I used all kinds of components that your average computer user or gamer would not even know existed.
There are many other application a PC can be used for with many components we never discuss on this forum.
Sorry I wasted everyone's time with my idea. :)
Peace
You are not wasting anyone's time and we are still discussing it.
Of course, you will need a professional sound device for a music production computer, and possibly an advanced storage system - but it's still a computer.
